Four NJ Projects Cited for Safety AchievementStructure Tone was honored at the State of New Jersey’s 81st Annual Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Awards dinner. The program is based on the (2008) calendar year with Recognition Awards presented to those achieving safety excellence through consecutive hours worked with no lost time or recordable injuries. Four Structure Tone projects were honored:
Structure Tone Signs OSHA Partnering Agreement for NJ Data Center SiteStructure Tone entered into an OSHA Cooperative Program for a new, 300,000sf, out-of-the-ground data center being built in Somerset County, NJ. The goal of the Partnership Program is to send the employees (Structure Tone, subcontractors, and owner) of the data center project home whole and healthy every day. This is the fifth project-specific partnership between OSHA and Structure tone – these in addition to the six projects that were encompassed by Structure Tone’s National Cooperative Partnership Agreement.Traditionally, OSHA’s strategy has been to promulgate and enforce workplace safety and health standards. The OSHA Strategic Partnership Program (OSPP) moves away from traditional enforcement methods and embraces collaborative agreements. Through OSPP, OSHA and its partners agree to work cooperatively to address critical safety and health issues. This very different approach is proving to be an effective tool for reducing fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the workplace – particularly for Structure Tone, which has been regularly recognized by OSHA for safety excellence.
