Our firm provided construction management services to Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. for the fit-out of its new 150,000sf headquarters building in Montvale, this three story project consisted of constructing new corporate offices, both executive and team conference rooms, educational facilities, dining area and relocation of the existing cafeteria and data center to support Barr’s growing needs.
MEPS Upgrades
After demolition of the interior of the building, our staff provided support for the major infrastructure upgrade required in order to support Barr’s new headquarters. Our team constructed a new data center with major emphasis on purchasing and installing CRAC units, fan coil units and air conditioning for six new IDF closets. Modification of existing pre-action systems and installation of a new fire suppression system in the data center was also included in the scope of work.
To facilitate the modifications and upgrades requested, a new enhanced uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system was part of the project. Mechanical upgrades also consisted of adding a new UPS Powerware Module, new battery systems to provide 100 percent load capacity for 15 minutes and Eaton Powerware Distribution Units (PDU). A new air conditioning unit was installed to service the new training facility.
Moving Days
After the successful completion of the fit-out while maintaining the 12 week schedule, our staff worked with Barr representatives to coordinate the relocation and move into the new space. A detailed schedule was prepared and the phased transition ensured that all systems were up and running when Barr staff arrived on site.
