Kennedys LLP selected Structure Tone to build its new London headquarters. The new office created a change in Kennedys’ work method by adopting a flexible working space. The project included:
- an administration floor, with a cafe/restaurant, archive and law library
- three lawyer floors, adopting flexible working practice, including case rooms breakout areas
- a client floor with a private reception area, client meeting and dining rooms, 70-person auditorium and a fully functioning kitchen
Construction for Better Communication
Kennedys, a national law firm, was interested in improving communication among its attorneys and staff members. To advance the change in the office culture, an open plan floor layout was adopted in several regional offices. Having worked so well in the regions, Kennedys made the decision to continue that precedent and move to an open plan for its headquarters offices in London.
With this open plan office space in mind, Structure Tone staff retrofit Kennedys’ space with quiet rooms, case rooms, meeting rooms and on-floor break-out areas. The top floor houses the main client reception and meeting areas with a terrace for outdoor entertaining. Areas such as the library; courier/post; and a large, open, staff lunch and break out area are co-located on one floor to create a staff ‘hub.’
